Why did you choose to run for Katy City Council?
What pulled me into politics in the first place was injustice on multiple issues such as Katy Market Days, and after garnering 13%/289 votes last year for mayor despite everything working against me it gave me confidence to build my reputation and run again for the open Ward B seat.
What is your top priority if elected to represent the citizens of Katy?
Establish pro-community/pro-small business sentiment and policies and restore common sense within council chambers by ushering back in transparency, integrity and accountability.
What do you think is the most pressing issue for local residents, and what will you do to address it?
Over the past five years our tax rate has only dropped two cents per $100 with property values exploding and spending not too far behind. My proposal is to eliminate home property taxes for those 65 & older, substantially decrease for everyone else and recommend budget audits for FY19-FY25.
What would you do to continue prioritizing mobility in Katy?
Mitigate flood risk, improve response and repair timeframes for roads, and work on making our sidewalks more complete.
How do you plan to help grow the city’s economic development?
Right now the biggest hurdle for everyone either within or interested in city of Katy is our permitting department that’s frequently blamed for shuttering or driving away businesses before getting started or stalling improvement plans, the first solution to this is reform (evaluation then firing and replacing as recommended).

Why did you choose to run for Katy City Council?
I’ve spent nine years serving on my HOA board, including seven as president, managing budgets and community improvements. With significant turnover on council this year, Katy needs experienced leadership focused on responsible planning, protecting residents’ investments and keeping our city strong as we grow.
What is your top priority if elected to represent the citizens of Katy?
My top priority is ensuring Katy grows intelligently. Infrastructure and city services must be planned alongside development from the start. Proactive planning minimizes resident disruption and prevents costly situations where projects are rebuilt because long-term needs weren’t considered during initial design.
What do you think is the most pressing issue for local residents, and what will you do to address it?
Katy’s continued growth makes responsible planning critical. Infrastructure, mobility, drainage and city services must keep pace with development so growth does not negatively impact residents. My focus will be proactive planning that protects Katy’s quality of life while ensuring the city remains strong and prepared for the future.

Why did you choose to run for Katy City Council?
After speaking up about local issues in Katy, someone challenged me and said, “If you care so much, step up and do something about it.” I took that to heart. I am running for City Council to continue serving our community and to take action for residents in Ward B.
What is your top priority if elected to represent the citizens of Katy?
My top priority is ensuring residents’ voices are heard and maintaining strong checks and balances between city boards and council decisions. Transparency in decision-making and thoughtful planning will protect our community values and maintain public confidence while preparing Katy for responsible growth and future needs.
What do you think is the most pressing issue for local residents, and what will you do to address it?
One of the most pressing issues facing residents is managing rapid growth around Katy and the pressure it places on drainage and flood mitigation. While the city has made progress, development north of Katy continues to impact our area. Careful planning and preparation will be essential to protect our neighborhoods.

What would you do to continue prioritizing mobility in Katy?
Mobility planning must stay ahead of growth. I support detailed planning for road projects that considers neighborhood impacts and future needs so improvements are done right the first time. Better planning reduces traffic disruptions, protects taxpayer dollars and minimizes negative impacts on residents.
How do you plan to help grow the city’s economic development?
Strong infrastructure and reliable services drive economic growth. When streets move efficiently and residents feel safe, people invest locally. We will review projects carefully and coordinate with local, state and federal partners to keep vital improvements moving forward efficiently.
As Katy continues to grow, mobility planning and thoughtful coordination of road improvements must remain a priority. I will focus on ensuring approved road projects move forward efficiently and making decisions that consider long-term impacts on infrastructure and quality of life, while planning carefully for traffic flow and signalization.
How do you plan to help grow the city’s economic development?
Residents and businesses rely on an efficient permitting process. When permitting becomes overly complicated, it delays projects, discourages contractors, and increases costs for small businesses. Improving permitting efficiency will help businesses grow and strengthen Katy’s local economy, so I will work to ensure the process is clear and accessible.
