Lamar Consolidated ISD has opened a new administration building to better serve families, students and employees amid district growth.
The setup
The new administration building, located at 4810 Ave. I in Rosenberg, was constructed as a response to the “unprecedented growth” across the district, officials said in an email.
District officials said the building will now give staff enough workspace to improve operational efficiency and create a centralized location where employees, families and community members can access district services.
Other building benefits include:
- Improving departmental collaboration
- Enhancing customer service for parents, employees and community members
- Providing modern meeting and training spaces to support professional learning and district operations
- Positioning the district to effectively support continued enrollment growth and the opening of new campuses
How we got here
The $42.8 million facility was funded through the district's $1.7 billion bond partially approved by voters in 2022, with construction beginning in January 2025 and lasting until May 2026.
What they’re saying
Lamar CISD officials said it feels appropriate to have an administration building that matches the direction the district is heading.
“As Lamar CISD continues to grow, it's important that our facilities grow with us,” officials said. “Our new administration building allows us to better support our campuses, improve collaboration among our teams, and provide a welcoming, efficient space where we can serve our employees, families and community.”
Looking ahead
Although the new building officially opens in August, Lamar CISD’s board of trustees held its June meeting at the building.
