Correction: Early voting for the city of Katy elections will only be held at Katy City Hall at 901 Avenue C. The story below, which originally published April 22, has been updated to reflect this information. April 22 is the first day of in-person early voting for the May 4 elections. Voters have until April 30 to cast an early ballot in person, and the last day to apply for ballot by mail is April 23. To vote, citizens must present an acceptable form of photo identification. Here is a list of the acceptable forms of photo IDs:
- Texas driver's license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety, or DPS;
- Texas election identification certificate issued by DPS;
- Texas personal identification card issued by DPS;
- Texas handgun license issued by DPS;
- U.S. military identification card containing the person’s photograph;
- U.S. citizenship certificate containing the person’s photograph; or
- U.S. passport, book or card.
If you do not possess and cannot reasonably obtain one of those IDs, you will need to fill out a Reasonable Impediment Declaration form at the polling location and show a copy of supporting documents, such as a utility bill, bank statement or paycheck. City of Katy
Registered voters in the city of Katy may cast their ballot early at Katy City Hall. On election day, those living in Ward A should go to City Hall, and those living in Ward B should go to the Katy Municipal Court Complex.
