Overpasses on FM 1488 at FM 149 and on FM 1774 at FM 1488 are closed until further notice amid inclement weather, Precinct 2 Commissioner Charlie Riley's office said in a Facebook post Feb. 12. This includes the Texas Department of Transportation overpasses located near Magnolia West High School and Magnolia High School.



Earlier that morning, Riley's office posted that 13 vehicles were stuck on the FM 1774 at FM 1488 overpass.



As the overpasses are along state roads and within the TxDOT's jurisdiction, the city of Magnolia Police Department stated on its Facebook page that TxDOT had been notified of the icy conditions on the two overpasses.



Community Impact Newspaper media partner ABC 13 reported the incident on the FM 1774 at FM 1488 overpass occurred before 7 a.m. and includes 10-17 vehicles stuck on the overpass due to icy conditions, making it difficult for other vehicles to make the climb up the overpass. ABC 13 reported no serious injuries had been reported as of 9 a.m.
