Ongoing projects

FM 1488 widening west of Magnolia

Project: Between the Waller County Line and FM 1774, FM 1488 is being widened from two to four lanes with a continuous left-turn lane.

Update: According to the latest media update received from the Texas Department of Transportation on Nov. 10, this project is 98% completed.
  • Timeline: November 2020-fourth quarter 2025
  • Cost: $35.35 million
  • Funding source: state funds
Spur 149 overlay


Project: Between FM 1488 and FM 149, Spur 149 is undergoing construction for a hot mix asphalt overlay.

Update: This project is 90% completed, according to a Nov. 10 media update from TxDOT.
  • Timeline: September-fourth quarter 2025
  • Cost: $1.1 million
  • Funding sources: federal, state funds
FM 1488 widening through Magnolia

Project: FM 1488 is being widened from two to four lanes with a continuous left turn lane between FM 1774 and west of FM 149.

Update: This project is 62% completed, according to a Nov. 10 media update from TxDOT.
  • Timeline: June 2022-third quarter 2027
  • Cost: $48.28 million
  • Funding source: state funds
Woodlands Parkway at Branch Crossing Drive turn lane extensions


Project: The left-turn lane will be extended from westbound Woodlands Parkway to southbound Branch Crossing Drive and from Branch Crossing Drive onto eastbound Woodlands Parkway.

Update: Construction has started on the Branch Crossing left-turn lane extension.
  • Timeline: Work will be completed by the end of the year.
  • Cost: $58,000 (design), $310,876 (construction)
  • Funding source: Montgomery County road bond
