The Harris County Toll Road Authority is finishing work on Phase 2 of the Tomball Tollway with new tolled main lanes slated to open to drivers in December. Phase 2 extends the tolled portion of Hwy. 249 from just north of FM 2920 to Spring Creek in Tomball, building on Phase 1, which opened in April 2015 from Northpointe Boulevard to FM 2920. Phase 2 construction began in early 2017 with new frontage lanes having opened in mid-2018.
