"The garden is a living tribute to all of America's veterans and their families and the opportunity to renew our promise to fulfill America's sacred duty to never forget," said Rhonda Harshbarger, regent of the San Jacinto Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, in the release.
The garden is a joint project by the local DAR chapter and the city of Tomball and features red and white roses. The garden is located at the entrance to Matheson Park on Ulrich Road.
Additional improvements are slated for Matheson Park, including a splash pad, walking trail, pickleball courts and new playground equipment, Community Impact Newspaper previously reported. The city has received a $750,000 matching grant from the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department.
