Friendswood Development Co., the developer for the master-planned community Woodtrace in Pinehurst, presented Decker Prairie Elementary School with a $5,000 donation in mid-October, a press release from the company said. The proceeds came from the company’s Woodtrace Wilderness Kids Triathlon, which was held Aug. 15, the release said.

“We are beyond thrilled with this donation,” Decker Prairie Elementary Principal Brenda Blackmon said in the release. “We spoke with our staff, and collectively we decided to use the funds for leveled classroom libraries.”
