Lone Star College-Tomball has decreased the preadmission requirements necessary to obtain a certificate in pharmacy technology, according to a press release.
“Fewer admission requirements allow more students to enter the program more quickly, with fewer barriers and missed opportunities,” said Angela Bayer, LSC-Tomball’s Pharmacy Technology Program director, via press release. “The primary purpose of these changes is to help students achieve their career goals sooner and continue to supply the Houston health care industry [with] the brightest and best-prepared pharmacy technicians.”
To apply to enter the program, prospective students need to apply to Lone Star College, have a minimum 2.0 grade point average and complete the program application that includes an essay on “Why I Want to Become a Pharmacy Technician," according to the program’s website.
Applications for the program will be accepted up to one week before the start of classes in August and January, according to the press release.
The pharmacy technology program will hold informational sessions Oct. 24 at 11 a.m. and Nov. 9 at 2:30 p.m. in Classroom 316 at the LSC-Tomball Health Science Building, located at 700 Graham Drive, Tomball.
