At its Nov. 17 Tomball City Council meeting, Project Manager Meagan Mageo delivered the latest quarterly Capital Improvement Plan update for projects active through Sept. 30, outlining progress on water, wastewater, roadway and streetscape improvements across the city.

FM 2920 Lift Station improvements

The city is also working on projects funded by impact fees, which are one-time developer costs paid to help municipalities offset infrastructure costs. Updates include:

16-inch water line at Hufsmith Road
  • The project is ahead of schedule.
  • BNSF bore review is scheduled for Dec. 6, which will complete the tie-in for the segment.
  • Crews are currently working along Peach Street toward the baseball field with open-trench installation advancing toward Hospital Street.
  • The project is under budget, and no change orders are anticipated.

Oak and Clayton Streets water line replacement
  • Construction is complete.
  • Final walkthrough, punch list and close-out documentation are underway.

Alley amenity project
  • The contractor has completed all amenity work.
  • The city is awaiting CenterPoint to set meters at five locations to activate pedestal lighting.

Baker Drive and Cherry Street sidewalks
  • Sidewalk construction along Baker Drive is complete.
  • A contract for the final section on Cherry Street (Market to Tomball ISD Administration Building) is active.

Grand Parkway elevated storage tank

  • Plantings will occur from Fort Connors to Willow streets, coordinated with TxDOT’s arborist and landscape architect to ensure longevity and avoid conflicts with buildings or future roadway work.
