The incident has impacted nearby properties, including Brookshire Brothers, Magnolia Inn & Suites, parts of the Windmill Estates neighborhood and numerous properties north of McDonald’s, city officials confirmed.
Magnolia City Administrator Chris Whittaker said the TxDOT contractor is working to repair the line and restore service. Whittaker said any cost to fix the issue will be billed to TxDOT.
Mayor Matthew “Doc” Dantzer said at 6:09 p.m. the boil water notice should be lifted within the next three to four hours.
“We know where it was hit, and we've identified it,” Magnolia Mayor said. “In the meantime, please be patient, we are addressing the issues.”
Residents who lost water service within the last few hours were advised to boil water once service is restored while the city conducts residual testing to ensure water quality, per the website.
