Magnolia City Council approved the petition for annexation of 94.53 acres of land during its June 10 meeting.

What happened

The property is located near the intersection of FM 1488 and Mill Creek Road, and the developer of the future project is Magnolia Paragon, LLC, according to the agenda.

A BGE Inc. engineer representative said during the meeting that the land is anticipated to be developed with both residential and commercial components. The proposal includes a 60-acre single-family residential portion developed into three phases, with retail and multifamily closer to the street.

A 95-acre development in this area was previously brought forth to council in August 2023, according to prior reporting. At the time, the center was expected to have a midsize grocery store or fitness center as its anchor.

What’s next

Magnolia City Council will hold a public hearing to approve the annexation at 6 p.m. July 8 at Magnolia City Hall, 18111 Buddy Riley Blvd., Magnolia.
