Magnolia and Tomball became more diverse over the past five years, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2023 American Community Survey 5-Year Estimates released Dec. 12.

Within the boundaries of Magnolia and Tomball ISDs, there was a decrease in the white population to 89.4% and 82.1%, respectively, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. The population within TISD’s boundary saw an uptick in the Asian population, which grew from 7% in 2018 to 8.2% in 2023, while MISD’s Asian population remained the same at 1.9%.

Both populations within MISD and TISD’s boundaries experienced a rise in Black population to 3.9% and 7.4%, respectively, according to the data.

According to the data, the Hispanic population grew within both school district boundaries increasing from 22% to 24.8% in MISD and from 20.3% to 22.8% in TISD.
