At its Sept. 3 meeting, Tomball City Council unanimously approved on first reading four Tomball Economic Development Corp. agreements with various commercial businesses, including RSC Riverside Construction, Red Grip, Walsh Alliance and Metal Zinc Manufacturing.

The economic agreements include infrastructure grants and incentives for job creation, according to the agenda.

RSC Riverside Construction, which has been in operation since 2005, will receive assistance with infrastructure costs related to the development of a multibuilding office and warehouse. The infrastructure grant is not to exceed $101,870, according to the Sept. 3 agenda packet. The 12.11-acre development will be located along Holderrieth Road in Tomball.






Red Grip will receive a $15,195 grant for infrastructure costs related to its development. The location of the projected 1.04-acre facility is slated for 1211 Rudel Road, Tomball, according to the agenda packet. The development will include two stand-alone buildings, with one set to serve as a day care facility totaling 4,620 square feet. The five-year net benefit of the project on Tomball’s economy is $51,435, according to the packet.



Walsh & Albert Company—a family-owned sheet metal manufacturing company that constructs and installs heating, ventilation and air conduction ductwork—will receive a $165,000 incentive for job creation. The company proposes to relocate 250 full-time employees and create 80 new jobs. The five-year net benefit of this project on Tomball’s economy is $383,517, according to the agenda. The company will develop a 196,500-square-foot building in the Tomball Business and Technology Park. Walsh & Albert Company will lease approximately 64,000 square feet of the building, and the remaining square footage will be used by Metal Zinc Manufacturing.

Metal Zinc Manufacturing, which manufactures metal products and has been in business since 2015, will receive a proposed incentive of $80,000. The business plans to relocate 130 full-time employees and create 30 new jobs. The five-year net benefit of this project to Tomball’s economy is $357,004, according to the agenda packet. The manufacturing company will lease space in the Tomball Business & Technology Park.
