On Feb. 20, during their 70-mile journey from Montgomery to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the Sam Houston Trail Riders made their annual stop in Tomball. Dozens of people gathered at the Tomball Depot Plaza to greet the riders during an event that also featured live music, dancing and food.
The Sam Houston Trail Riders group, which kicked off this year's ride on Feb. 19, includes 50-75 riders, according to its website. The trail ride was first established in February 1955.
Following their Tomball stop, the riders are set to camp at Spring Creek Park before continuing on to the rodeo, according to their daily schedule.
