Aug. 12: Attend a back-to-school bash

Paradigm Brewing Co. is hosting a back-to-school bash that will feature live music, food and a school supply drive hosted by the Grand Oaks Elementary Parent Teacher Organization. Attendees can also expect to see Jedi and Barbie characters and enjoy food and kids activities, such as face painting, balloons and activities. Teachers will receive free beer, and small-business vendors will also be on-site for shopping.Aug. 12: Enjoy fun activities

At Kiddie Academy Magnolia’s storytime live event, families with children 6 months old through elementary age will be able to enjoy fun activities, a bounce house, a splash pad and meeting a storybook character. Refreshments will be provided.Aug. 12: Attend an afternoon of play

Children ages 4 months to 12 years who attend The Little Gym Tomball’s first anniversary party will be able to enjoy free play, instructor-led activities, snacks and a craft table. There will also be an enrollment special available for nonmembers. No RSVP is needed, but children will be barefoot, and adults will need to wear socks in the gym.Aug. 13: Participate in water activities


Tomball Methodist Church’s Rally Sunday event will include water activities, a ministry fair and food. The event will take place after a 10 a.m. church service, at which children’s backpacks will be blessed. Attendees are also invited to bring a covered dish to share.Aug. 17: Decorate cookies

At The Bluebonnet Tasting Room and Laurel Bakes’ August cookie decorating class, attendees will have the chance to decorate under-the-sea-themed cookies. The age minimum for the class is 12 years old, and everything needed for the class will be provided. Light refreshments will be offered, and attendees can enjoy a 50% discount on their first glass of wine.Aug. 25: Escape in the woods

Families and friends can try their hand at a nature-related escape room and scavenger hunt-style program at Kickerillo-Mischer Preserve. This event will see attendees solve clues, look for evidence and find their way out of tricky situations. Designed for groups of three to six people, the age minimum for participants is 6 years old. Online registration will be open until Aug. 23.

Aug. 26: Listen to live music

Main Street Crossing will host Selena Forever Tribute, a Selena Quintanilla Perez tribute band. This is the first time Selena Forever Tribute will be taking the stage at Main Street Crossing.Aug. 26: Dance with the community


After cleansing the energy of the space, attendees at Wild Spirit Yoga’s ecstatic dance and community celebration event will have the opportunity to dance alongside music and other people. Attendees can bring a blanket to sit off to the side of the dancing.
