Two candidates for Texas House of Representatives District 3 will appear on the ballot for both the Democratic and Republican primaries on election day.

District 3 covers portions of Magnolia and Montgomery County. The seat is currently held by Rep. Cecil Bell Jr., R-Magnolia, who was elected to the position in 2013.

Primary early voting begins Feb. 17, and election day is March 3. The winners of the Democratic and Republican primaries will face off in the general election in November.

Why are you running for office?



For the last few years, I have listened to constituents and worked hard to pass conservative priorities that really make a difference in their lives. I want to continue working hard for the people of this district.



What would your top priorities be if elected?



Lowering property tax rates in a meaningful way. Increasing public safety and finding permanent solutions to border security. Address water availability & water rights in Texas.



What are the biggest challenges facing District 3?



Runaway property taxes. Out of control appraisals. Water cost and availability.

Pass appraisal reform. Pass 5% cap on all real property. Shot clock for permitting construction of new lots. Enhance private property rights.
