With all votes in for Montgomery County, incumbent Charlie Riley wins the Republican primary election for Montgomery County Precinct 2 Commissioner, according to unofficial voting results from Montgomery County. Riley received 56.47% of votes totaling 12,311 votes and contender Jennifer Eckhart received 9,489 votes.

There was no Democratic challenger in the Democratic primary for the seat.

With 21,800 total votes cast for Precinct 2 commissioner, more than half—58.99%—of the votes were cast via absentee ballots or during the early voting period, according to county election totals.


Riley's campaign shared the win on the campaign's Facebook page late March 1.

Incumbent Charlie Riley appears likely to receive the Republican nomination for Montgomery County Precinct 2 commissioner with a lead over challenger Jennifer Eckhart. With 107 of 111 precincts reporting in Montgomery County as of publication, Riley has received 11,713 votes totaling 56.59% of votes to Eckhart's 8,984 votes, according to county election results.

Riley could not be reached for comment late March 1.

Early voting results from the Montgomery County elections office show incumbent Charlie Riley leading the Republican primary election for Montgomery County Precinct 2 commissioner, a position he was first elected to in November 2014.


Candidate Jennifer Eckhart, who has a business management degree and worked in construction and finance, according to previous reporting, is also vying for the position.

With early and absentee votes counted in Montgomery County, Riley has 56.81% of votes, or 7,212 votes.

Riley previously said his priorities for managing growth in the fast-growing Precinct 2 are safety and mobility, if re-elected.

Eckhart previously said mobility, drainage, safety and fiscal responsibility were among her priorities for managing growth in the precinct.


The winners for each party in the March primaries will be on the ballot in the November general election. There is no Democratic contender in the Democratic primary March 1 for Precinct 2 commissioner, according to the county ballot.
