Zack Boles, Tomball ISD’s current assistant superintendent of finance, will become the district’s next chief financial officer, according to an April 12 news release, succeeding current CFO Jim Ross who is set to retire in June.

“Zack Boles has not only contributed countless hours to serving our district but is knowledgeable and a true professional in school finance,” Superintendent Martha Salazar-Zamora said via news release. “He is prepared for this next step in his career. Having learned under Mr. Ross, I am confident Zack will continue to strive for financial excellence and strong fiscal management. We are lucky to have him as our next CFO.”

Boles first joined TISD in 2010 and, in his current position as assistant superintendent of finance, oversees the tax office, payroll, purchasing, accounts payable and accounting departments, according to the news release.

“Mr. Ross has been instrumental in my growth,” Boles said via news release. “I cannot thank him enough for dedicating his time to building my experience and knowledge of school finance.”

As CFO, Boles will lead and oversee TISD’s financial operations, which include its budget, debt issuance and management, the purchase and sale of property, benefits, risk management, construction, and maintenance, according to the news release.

“I would like to thank [Salazar-Zamora], the cabinet and the board of trustees for their support as I continue Tomball ISD's pursuit of financial excellence with a consistent, transparent and responsible approach,” Boles said via news release.
