Magnolia ISD Executive Director of Facilities Tim Bruner addressed water concerns for Audubon Elementary School, stating during a March 20 school board meeting that the district has entered a water agreement with Audubon Magnolia Development.

During the meeting, Bruner said Audubon is in the process of building its own water plant. Bruner said MISD has entered an agreement with Audubon to receive its water from that plant.

Executive Director of Communications Denise Meyers said in a March 22 email that on June 4, 2021, MISD with Audubon Magnolia Development signed a utility commitment agreement with Montgomery County Municipal District No. 131 for all water supply and sanitary sewer treatment capacity for the district's future elementary school. Meyers said Nov. 29 that MISD submitted to MUD 131 a commercial application for new water and sewer service for Audubon Elementary.

According to previous reporting, Audubon Elementary was approved in the 2022 bond that passed Nov. 8. The elementary school was approved to be constructed for $33.51 million during the March 20 meeting and will be open by the 2024-25 school year.
