The Tomball ISD board of trustees swore in its new board members during a regular meeting Dec. 6, welcoming newcomer Tina Salem to Position 1 and thanking outgoing Board President Kathy Handler for her 12 years on the board. Salem won a three-way race for Position 1 in the Nov. 8 election after Handler did not seek re-election.

In addition to Salem, incumbents Michael Pratt, John McStravick and Mark Lewandowski were sworn into another term for positions 2, 3 and 4, respectively, by Lincoln Goodwin, Justice of the Peace, Place 1, with Harris County Precinct 4.

Board members unanimously approved reorganizing positions Dec. 6 as well to include Trustee Lee McLeod as board president, McStravick as vice president, Trustee Justin Unser as secretary and Lewandowski as assistant secretary.

The new board is scheduled to meet again Jan. 9 at 5:30 p.m.
