During a Sept. 12 meeting, the Magnolia ISD board of trustees approved Terracon Consultants and PBK Architects to work on proposed construction projects related to the 2022 bond package, should the bond propositions pass during the Nov. 8 election.

According to the agenda packet, MISD issued a request for qualifications for materials testing and geotechnical services for any future construction projects. After reviewing 12 submissions, MISD recommended Terracon Consultants.

"Terracon is a very reputable company," Executive Director of Facilities Tim Bruner said during the meeting. "It is my recommendation we go with Terracon."

MISD also approved PBK Architects to provide architectural services for proposed construction projects related to the 2022 bond should the $232 million bond package be approved by voters Nov. 8. Proposition A on the Nov. 8 ballot calls for elementary, intermediate and junior high schools.

"We have been using PBK Architects; they have been longtime architects for this district," Bruner said during the meeting. "We really needed to take the step, move forward in hiring an architect for these upcoming bond projects should the election pass."

The bond will be voted on Nov. 8.
