Magnolia ISD announced Monday new start and ending times for the 2018-19 school year, which begins Aug. 20.
The new schedule allows fifth and sixth grade students attending the district's new intermediate schools—opening in August—to ride the bus with their age group, according to a
statement from the district.
Magnolia and Bear Branch intermediate schools will house fifth and sixth grades, replacing the former sixth grade campuses. Construction of the schools was funded by a $92 million bond, approved by voters in 2015.
- Junior high and high school campuses—enrolling students in grades 7-12—will begin the school day at 7:15 a.m. Dismissal will be at 2:30 p.m.
- Intermediate school campuses—enrolling students in grades 5-6—will begin the school day at 7:55 a.m. and be dismissed at 3:10 p.m.
- Elementary school campuses—enrolling students in grades K-4—will begin the school day at 8:20 a.m. and be dismissed at 3:35 p.m.
