After months of scouting a location in northwest Houston, the owners of
Bearded Fox Brewing Co. have announced they will begin construction on their new facility in Tomball.
The brewery will be located at 11729 Spring Cypress Road, Tomball, in the former location of Raw Gym. Co-owner Mike Sturm said the company is in the process of obtaining licensing and permitting, but plans to begin moving into the facility within the next two weeks. An exact opening date is still to be determined.
Sturm said he and fellow owners Marcus Garcia, Steve Early, Trey Looney, Randall Clark and Russell Klasel originally planned to open the brewery in Cypress but were waiting for the right space to open.
“We’ve been searching for a location for the past several months now,” Sturm said. “We are extremely excited to find this location.”
Sturm said the brewery will be used only for production at first—distributing kegs of craft beer to local bars and restaurants—but there are plans to add a taproom that will be open to the public.
“We plan to be up and brewing pretty quick I hope,” Sturm said.
Bearded Fox is the latest in a string of new businesses coming to the Plaza One Shopping Center on Spring Cypress Road. The second location of
Melt Gourmet Grilled Cheese and Adelyne’s Teacher Supply and Gifts are expected to open in the next two months. The Barber’s Chair and Mattress Empire will follow later in the year.
Just a few miles north in downtown Tomball,
Fire Ant Brewing is under construction at 300 Market Street. Co-owner Bruce Kissinger has previously said he expects to complete the facility by December.
