Coventry Homes, a homebuilder that works across Texas, will begin building in Escondido, according to a July 13 release from the company. Escondido is a 150-acre master-planned development located on FM 1774 just west of Magnolia West High School.

Coventry Homes will be constructing about 200 homes in the development, according to Paul Blackburn, region president for McGuyer Homebuilders, Inc., the parent company of Coventry Homes. However, the development will have 600 total homesites, Blackburn said.

“Homes are selling like hotcakes in the Houston area,” Blackburn said in the release.

Home prices for Coventry Homes will start from the low $300,000’s, according to the release. Floor plans have not yet been released. Blackburn said sales will begin in late August or early September.

The community offers a lake with catch-and-release fishing, a shaded pavilion and a park with a playground. Escondido is zoned to Magnolia ISD schools.

Perry Homes and David Weekley Homes will also be constructing homes in the development, according to their websites.
