Construction for Magnolia's anticipated H-E-B at Spur 149 and FM 1488 is slated to begin June 14, Magnolia City Administrator Don Doering said during a Feb. 9 City Council meeting.
Doering said construction will begin with utility work and building a retention pond for the property.
Construction on H-E-B was previously slated to begin last fall. However, the project was put on hold in May by development company Stratus Properties Inc. as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
H-E-B is part of a larger, 12-acre mixed-use development by Stratus Properties Inc. called Magnolia Place, Community Impact Newspaper previously reported.
KB Home is developing Mustang Ridge, which is under construction near Magnolia West High School. The community will feature 226 lots and is anticipated to open this summer, spokesperson Cara Kane said in an email.
The 51-acre community Rosehill Meadows is in the early stages on Decker-Prairie Rosehill Road in Magnolia. Developer Ahmet Ozan said the community will include approximately 250 home sites in two sections. The first 120 sites are slated to be ready in July for model home construction.
