Montgomery County Emergency Services District No. 10, which serves Magnolia, celebrated the hiring of 11 full-time firefighters during a swearing-in ceremony April 21, according to an April 24 news release.

The firefighters were sworn in by fire Chief Jeff Hevey.

“You have chosen a rewarding profession,” Hevey said during the ceremony, according to the news release. “You will have the opportunity to change, protect and save lives as a member of the Magnolia Fire Department.”

ESD 10, which has a 164-square-mile service area, is also underway with projects to rebuild and remodel stations 182, 183 and 186 and build a maintenance and logistics facility in Pinehurst, Community Impact previously reported.

These new firefighters will serve alongside the 12 full-time firefighters who joined the department last August, according to previous reporting.

ESD 10 provides firefighting services to Magnolia after becoming the direct provider of services following a transition from contracting with the Magnolia Volunteer Fire Department in January 2022.
