Tomball City Council members authorized the Tomball Economic Development Corp. during an Aug. 15 meeting to grant funds to Clearhope Counseling & Wellness Center as well as Della Casa Pasta to support business expansions in the city.

Clearhope Counseling & Wellness Center is a mental health and counseling facility that accepts all major health insurances, including Medicare and Medicaid, TEDC Executive Director Kelly Violette said during the meeting.

"When they looked at our market, they found that there was only one other facility within our area that offered those types of services and took health insurance," she said. "So [it's] exciting to kind of see that coming in."

The business will be opening a new office in a 1,250-square-foot space within the renovated Bank of America building, known as The Field, at 1431 Graham Drive, Ste. 130, Tomball.

The grant council approved is for rental assistance, which will be paid after the business' first full year of operation in Tomball for 25% of the monthly base rent, Violette said. As such, the grant amount is for $6,875.

A second grant incentive for Della Casa Pasta was also approved to help the business with its expansion. According to Violette, the business began at the Tomball Farmers Market in 2011.

"They have been growing like crazy, and they are in stores from here to Austin to Dallas, and they've kind of merged in with our local businesses, and so they're selling some of their pasta and lasagna products in our local businesses as well," Violette said.

Della Casa Pasta, located at 1599 Hicks St., Ste. 2, Tomball, will be expanding into a neighboring space totaling 1,927 square feet, Violette said. The grant funds will be paid after the first year and total $6,520, she said.

Timelines were not shared for when the businesses will move into their new locations.
