Joey Jamison said he was reminded of his faith in 2019 after a multiple-vehicle accident left him nearly immobile, leaving his vertebrae shattered in five places and his faith shaken. A year into his recovery, still battling excruciating pain, he turned to prayer and asked God for healing. By morning, Jamison said the pain was miraculously gone.
His said his experience renewed his faith and reshaped his purpose. Today, he owns Chosen Farm and Sawmill, a sawmill company founded in 2022 that transforms discarded trees into handcrafted furniture, using the proceeds to help those in need while dedicating his days to worship and gratitude.
The backstory
After retiring as an electrician through his own national service company, Jamison said he met his wife, Sandra Jamison, an occupational therapist, in 2012. At the time, the two Magnolia residents had no idea their 1-acre land would transform into the Christian-based business it is today.

With a land filled with greenery and trees, the Jamisons said they started crafting furniture with their own trees that needed to be cleared from their land. Today, Chosen Farm and Sawmill operates by accepting tree donations that would otherwise go to waste and transforming them into unique craft furnishings.
“We didn't do any of this. God did it,” Joey Jamison said.

Respecting the craft
Joey Jamison said he starts his mornings in his outdoor woodshop with music as he enjoys nature, praising God and crafting wood projects.
Utilizing a Computer Numerical Control machine, the Jamisons create tokens carved with biblical phrases that are gifted to people they come across. Sandra Jamison said she gifts “healing tokens” to her patients with the quote “O LORD my God, I cried to you for help, and you restored my health.”

Utilizing two sawmills and tractors, the Jamisons mill trees from pine and maple trees to cedar and oak trees. Crafts made range from coffee tables and cutting boards to Christian-based crafts featuring keychains, zipper chains and necklaces.
