Young Chefs Academy will open a location in Tomball, owners Chris and Elizabeth McKelvey confirmed.

The business will offer weekly cooking classes on a membership program, Chris McKelvey said. Students will start with a white chef's jacket, and can work up to a black chef's jacket and the title of Young Chefs Academy MasterChef.

“Our aim is not to teach students how to cook one specific recipe at a time, but to teach the core skills of cooking in a fun, safe, hands-on environment,” Chris McKelvey said. “Our classes are designed to build up these skills in our students over time so that when they go out into the world, they have the knowledge and skills to cook any recipe they can find.”

Young Chefs Academy will also host birthday parties, seasonal camps, workshops, field trips, scouting events and more, Chris McKelvey said.

“We take pride in watching our students grow as young chefs and as young men and women, and we cannot wait to open up in Tomball and have a chance to meet the families in this community,” Chris McKelvey said.
