Reality Escape, a family-owned business located at 11709 Boudreaux Road, Ste. 930, Tomball, opened its doors Feb. 11, owner Melissa Gabriel said via email.

“It's been fun and exciting,” Gabriel said. “Seeing our customers laughing and enjoying the themes—whether it's the puns, nostalgia or the facepalming themselves when they figure out the simple puzzle—has been a blast.”

Gabriel said an escape room is a game in which a team of players discover clues, solve puzzles and accomplish tasks in one or more rooms in order to accomplish a specific goal within a time limit, with the goal usually being to escape the room.

Reality Escape currently features two escape rooms, Gabriel said.

“One is 1850s Gold Rush and the other is ’90s Take Back,” Gabriel said. “We're also in the process of creating a party room which will include a 30-minute game to unlock your presents. Don't worry; even if you don't complete the game, you'll still get your presents.”

Gabriel said her family decided to start this business because they love escape rooms.

“When we travel, we even do some in that town,” Gabriel said. “With kids [ages] 11 and 14, it's hard to find affordable family fun that challenges yourself.”
