Tammie Gibson, co-owner of The Vault Executive Suites, said she was looking to move back to her hometown of Tomball two years ago. She and her husband Joe began searching for a space for their law firm, she said, and found the space above Spirit of Texas Bank as an empty shell—just concrete floors and walls. She said the couple did not need the full second floor, so they redesigned the space, opened The Vault Executive Suites and began subletting space to other tenants in early 2018. “There’s not really anything quite like this in Tomball. We’re on the cusp of a lot of growth, so we felt like there would be a market for it,” Tammie said. The Vault, located on West Main Street, offers upscale individual office spaces with barn door entry and laminate wood flooring. The facility also has shared amenities, including a kitchenette, reception area, and meeting and conference rooms, she said. The business is home to 17 suites, each one occupied by a different tenant, including Post Oak Title and Digital Drilling Data Systems LLC, Tammie said. She said monthly rent varies from $550 to $1,000 by suite size with utilities included. Tenants are only responsible for providing phone service and furniture, she said. “It’s nice when you’re on a budget as a business and you know what your bottom line is going to be every single month. It doesn’t fluctuate,” she said. Local business owners can also rent a conference room or meeting room for $50-$75 a day, Tammie said, even if they are not tenants at The Vault. Although the tenants’ needs vary, she said the collaborative space has worked well. “Everyone gets along really well. People will bring up lunch for the whole office, [or] they’ll help put together furniture when we get a new tenant,” she said. “It’s kind of like a little family.” With only one vacant suite remaining, Tammie said she and Joe have toyed with the idea of opening another shared office space. “We love the town of Tomball,” Tammie said. “We’re here because we love this place and this business.” The Vault Executive Suites 1100 W.
