According to a press release from Noack's office, the goal of the project is to widen Rayford to four lanes between Waterbend Cove and Birnham Woods Drive. A new concrete
roadway will be constructed on the south side of the existing Rayford lanes from just east of Waterbend Cove to west of the intersection with Birnham Woods Drive to create the two eastbound travel lanes. The existing road will be for the two westbound lanes along the stretch.
The press release also indicates a bridge will be included in the project east of Spring Trails Park Drive, and a traffic signal will be added to the Rayford Road and Birnham Woods intersection.
The project is anticipated to begin later this fall and is estimated to take one year to complete.
