The Woodlands Township Mosquito Surveillance and South County Mosquito Abatement identified three additional West Nile-positive mosquito samples this week.

According to a June 29 press release from The Woodlands Township, positive samples were collected from the villages of Grogan's Mill, Cochran's Crossing, Panther Creek and the Timber Lakes neighborhood.

The press release states South County Mosquito Abatement will spray areas surrounding the sites. A map of local spraying information can be found here.

According to the press release, the best way to avoid contracting West Nile virus is to avoid mosquito bites by wearing an Environmental Protection Agency-approved repellent while outside and to avoid evening and early morning times when mosquitos are more active.
