The bikes, which allow users to propel a water vehicle by pedaling, will be available in time for Memorial Day weekend for $30 per hour and $5 for each additional hour when purchased in advance.
Reservations can be made at www.lakesedgeboathouse.com or www.rivarowboathouse.com. The boathouse's hours are 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday through Monday. The facility is closed Tuesdays. The last boat departure each day is 7 p.m. during the summer, according to the township.
The bikes have baskets for users to stow a bag or cell phone as well as cupholders. The single-person bikes have a weight limit of 350 pounds and also carry a restriction against glass, pets and alcohol. Riders must wear a lifejacket and pedal from a forward-facing, seated position, according to the township.
Solo riders must be age 16 or older, and ages 10 and older can use a bike with an adult accompanying them on another vehicle. Liability waivers signed by an adult are required for all riders.
Other water vehicles available for rent include single and tandem kayaks as well as stand-up paddleboards.
