With Spring Creek levels projected to crest four feet higher than last year’s Tax Day and Memorial Day floods due to Hurricane Harvey, county officials are urging neighboring residents to evacuate to safety. Precinct 3 Commissioner James Noack announced via Facebook the creek is expected to crest at nearly 111 feet by Monday afternoon—a record flood level set in 1994. The Woodlands Township officials urge residents who were affected by floodwaters during the 2016 flood or live near Spring Creek, to evacuate to safety as soon as possible. Spring Creek floodwaters are expected to affect the following neighborhoods in and around The Woodlands area: Aventura Bracebridge Carlton Woods Creekside Cascade Canyon Creek Ridge Gatewood Reserve Grogan’s Point Havergate Heritage Hill Heron’s Flight Horizon Ridge Hunters Crossing Landsdowne Legacy Point Lenox Hill Pondera Point Shawnee Ridge River Bank Stellar Point Tallowberry Tealbriar Trace Creek Timarron Timarron Lakes Evacuation points have been established at Sawdust Road Baptist Church at 3100 Sawdust Road, Spring. From there, residents will be transported across Sawdust Road where buses will transfer to a local shelter.
