The details
The project is funded by a $3 million federal grant from U.S. Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Houston, and is separate from the city of Shenandoah’s ongoing water and sewer infrastructure efforts in the area, Kennedy Williams, public relations director from the office of Precinct 4 Commissioner Matt Gray, said.
Williams said Phase 1 includes an engineering study focused on evaluating the area's drainage and street network needs. The scope of work also includes ditch regrading, driveway culvert replacements and overall roadside drainage improvements.
Streets targeted in this phase include Broadway Avenue to the north, Main Street to the west, Sleepy Hollow Road to the south and Trails End Road to the east, Williams said.
What’s next
Once Phase 1 is completed, Precinct 4 plans to pursue additional funding for Phase 2, which will include full construction of final drainage upgrades and roadway reconstruction based on the engineering findings, Williams said.
