The city of Oak Ridge North's public works department announced the closure of Teddy Bear Park at 27207 Robinson Road to complete its renovations due to weather delays.

Teddy Bear Park has been undergoing $264,127 in renovations funded out of an American Rescue Plan Act grant approved by City Council in March. The renovations include new play structures and swings, a rubber ground area, and a new LED sign.

The recent rainy and cold weather in late 2022 prevented contractors from being able to pour the rubber ground and work on finishing up construction, but City Manager Heather Neeley stated the city is hopeful work could resume Jan. 9, but it will be dependent on weather conditions. There is no set opening date for the renovated park at this time.
