The Woodlands Township presented Parker McCollum with a proclamation designating Sept. 6, 2025, as Parker McCollum Day in The Woodlands and awarded him a ceremonial Key to The Woodlands during his performance at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. Supporting artists for the show were Kameron Marlowe and Vincent Mason.

The backstory

According to the proclamation, McCollum is from Conroe and graduated from College Park High School in The Woodlands. He attended concerts at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and performed locally before gaining widespread success, according to the proclamation.

He has received two Academy of Country Music Awards, three CMA nominations and has sold out concerts locally at the Pavilion and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, according to the proclamation.

The Pavilion recently announced its lineup of shows for the remainder of the year.

Linda Nelson, board of directors secretary and chair of Visit The Woodlands, said joining McCollum and other board members on stage for the presentation was a meaningful moment for the community.

Craig Eissler, vice chair of The Woodlands Township board of directors, said it was the first time he had seen the township present a ceremonial key.


"We just wanted to show him how much we appreciate what he does for The Woodlands," Eissler said. "He chose to perform at the Pavilion and bring in thousands of visitors to our town. ... We appreciate that and him and it was a unique way to honor him."
