May 6: Vote in a local election

Elections held in The Woodlands area this year include positions on the city councils for Oak Ridge North and Shenandoah. Montgomery County residents can see sample ballots for other elections in the area, including municipal utility districts, and Harris County residents can visit the Harris Votes website for their sample ballots. Woodforest Bank will hold its annual race competition, the Woodforest Bank Tri. This triathlon includes participants from beginners to nationally ranked triathletes. The event culminates with a festive awards party featuring music, food and beverages. Saddle River Range is hosting the Multi-County Crime Stoppers Marksmanship Challenge. This event will help raise funds for the MCCS, a nonprofit organization made up of a volunteer board of directors. Its mission is to assist local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies operating within Montgomery, Liberty and San Jacinto counties, to gather intelligence about local felony crimes and locate wanted felony fugitives. Montgomery County will hold its 2023 Outrun Hunger event to benefit programs for children, seniors and families facing hunger. The event includes a 5K trail run/walk and 1K color dash. The event also includes live music, food trucks and a children’s area.
