As of Jan. 1, filing will be open in The Woodlands Township for more than 100 positions that will be up for election Feb. 21 on the Residential Design Review Committees and Village Associations in The Woodlands.

What you need to know

Filing begins at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 1 and concludes at 5 p.m. Jan. 22. Township offices are closed Jan. 1, but forms can be submitted online or via email or fax, according to information from the township. Hand-delivered forms and other filing methods will be accepted beginning Jan. 2 at 8:30 a.m.

Filing forms can be obtained in the following ways:

  • At The Woodlands Township Town Hall, 2801 Technology Forest Blvd., Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
To vote, individuals must be:
  • Residents or property owners in good standing of the respective village
  • Age 18 and older
How it works


The five-member RDRCs serve one-year terms and facilitate property improvements in the community. Members of the committees dedicate several hours each month to review applications for property improvements to maintain design standards.

The village associations are civic associations that facilitate village activities. Officer duties may vary by village and position, according to the township.

At the polls

Voting takes place at The Woodlands Township Town Hall, located at 2801 Technology Forest Blvd., The Woodlands.


Early voting takes place from Feb. 16-20 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and regular election day hours Feb. 21 are 8 a.m.-6 p.m.

Those who do not file before the deadline can file as a write-in candidate before 5 p.m. Jan. 28.

Any RDRC or Village Association election that does not have a contested race by 5 p.m. Jan. 28 will be canceled, and the vacancy will be filled per the entity's bylaws, according to the township.
