The details
Following an announcement from State Rep. Steve Toth, R-The Woodlands, that he is seeking the seat for Congressional District 2, Bailey announced his run for Texas House District 15.
"With Representative Steve Toth seeking higher office, I’m stepping up to fight for our conservative values in Austin," Bailey said in the release.
Bailey will be running in the March 3 primary elections in 2026, and the winners of the primary election will go on to the November 3 general election, pending any runoff elections should no candidate receive more than 50% of the vote. The deadline to file as a candidate for the March 3 primary elections is Dec. 8, according to the Texas Secretary of State.
What else?
Bailey was elected to the township board of directors in 2022 to fill an unexpired term from a former board member. Bailey sought reelection in 2024 and won with 77.6% of the vote against challenger Dylan Gonzales. Bailey was made chairman of the board of directors for the township following his reelection.
Texas House District 15 primarily serves southern Montgomery County, including The Woodlands, Oak Ridge North and portions of the Spring area.
