Superintendent Curtis Null is leaving the district to take the superintendent post in Lake Travis ISD, and Ted Landry was named interim superintendent May 19.
The gist
CISD Director of Purchasing Brian Broussard told the board the steps needed to choose a firm as the district received nine submissions.
“Typically this process is through a district's purchasing department and a committee; however, given that the hiring of a superintendent is a core responsibility for the board of trustees, the committee in this case will be given to the seven trustees,” President Misty Odenweller said.
The following firms each presented for 10 minutes each to the board:
- Texas Association of School Boards Executive Search Associates
- BBAC Headquarters LLC Staffing Agency
- Walsh Gallegos Kyle Robinson & Roalson PPC
- Mcpherson and Jacobson LLC
- Texans for Excellence in Education
- Ray & Associates
Looking ahead
The motion allows the administration to enter into negotiation with TEE, the top-ranked firm after ratings were tabulated, followed by runner-up, Walsh Gallegos Kyle Robinson & Roalson PPC. The runner-up will be considered should an agreement not be met, the district said in a press release.
The negotiations will continue following the board’s ratings, if necessary.
“We are honored and excited that Texans for Excellence in Education has been selected to lead the superintendent search for Conroe ISD,” TEE President John Petree said. “Our team is committed to delivering a search process grounded in community engagement, transparent communication, and a tailored approach that reflects the values and priorities of the Conroe ISD community.”
