The Conroe ISD board of trustees approved a resolution authorizing compensation to district employees for days missed due to emergency closures, including the Sept. 14 emergency closure for Tropical Storm Nicholas. The resolution was approved by the board during a Sept. 20 regular meeting.

The resolution allows the district to compensate employees who would otherwise suffer loss of pay during emergency closures. The resolution states that paying employees during emergency closures serves the public purpose by maintaining employee morale, reducing employee turnover and helping to ensure that employees will return when the district reopens.

According to the resolution, the district will continue wage payments to all regular employees during an emergency closure for up to five days, unless the board authorizes payment for a longer duration.
