This spring, a variety of restaurants have opened, expanded or announced plans to join the dining scene in The Woodlands area. From late-night desserts and hot pot to coastal Italian cuisine, here are six new or soon-to-open spots to check out.

1. Midnight Cravingz

Late-night dessert shop Midnight Cravingz opened its first brick-and-mortar location in Spring on April 3.

The store originally operated as a pop-up shop on Sawdust Road, and it offers a variety of cookie and ice cream combination desserts

The store is open from 6 p.m. to midnight from Thursdays to Sundays.


2. Azzurro Italian Coastal Cuisine

Azzurro Italian Coastal Cuisine in Hughes Landing announced an expansion on May 13, bringing a longer bar and 20 additional tables to the Hughes Landing location.

The location on Restaurant Row offers items such as fresh pasta, homemade burrata and Italian seafood specialties such as branzino bagna cauda, cioppino, risotto di mare and braised meat offerings.

"We’re thrilled to bring the essence of our Italian heritage to an even larger audience with our expansion in The Woodlands," owner Enrique Orioli said.


3. Bohemian Bull

Tavern and beer garden restaurant Bohemian Bull is bringing a new location to the Spring area.

The restaurant specializes in a variety of craft beers, bourbons and burgers. One of the specialty burgers offered includes the "That's my Jam" burger, which is made with bacon jam, pepper jack pimento cheese and fried green tomato. The restaurant will also offer wings, wraps and salads alongside its beer and burger offerings.

4. Sal e Brasa


Sal e Brasa, a Brazilian steakhouse, held a soft opening April 26.

Sal e Brasa offers a buffet, seafood and a selection of wine along with its authentic churrasco, a grilled beef specialty.

5. Prime Beef Shabu

Prime Beef Shabu officials confirmed the eatery is now serving Japanese hot pot cuisine and opened March 28.


The Japanese restaurant offering all-you-can-eat hot pot with menu items such as thinly sliced meats and vegetables cooked in individual hot pot broth and dipped in sauces. Diners can cook their food at the table and add ingredients to a pot of simmering broth

6. Kura Revolving Sushi Bar

Kura Revolving Sushi Bar is slated to open this summer in The Woodlands area.

Kura Revolving Sushi Bar serves more than 100 dishes on a conveyor belt system enhanced by drink delivery robots, Kur-B the KuraBot, as well as prizes. Kura also offers noodle dishes and desserts.
