The Orioli Restaurant Group on Dec. 18 announced the closure of its Kuykendahl Road restaurant, Costa Fina Latin Coastal Kitchen. According to a news release from the restaurant group, the business offered flavors and cooking techniques from Latin American countries such as Peru, Ecuador, Mexico and Venezuela.

What they're saying

"The decision comes after careful consideration and reflects the group’s assessment that the restaurant, which opened to high anticipation, has not resonated with the local community as expected," the news release stated. "Despite its innovative menu inspired by the diverse coastal regions of South America, the concept has not experienced the growth anticipated, prompting the group to reevaluate its strategy."

The closure comes after nearly a year in business, according to the release.

What's next

The lease will be transferred to a "well-loved and established restaurant concept the community is already familiar with," according to the release. The name of the restaurant was not immediately available from the company.

Orioli Restaurant Group, which operates four Italian dining concepts in The Woodlands, will focus on the growth and development of its core brand, according to the release. The group's other restaurants are Marcoza Trattoria, Terra Vino Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar, Via Emilia Italian Restaurant and Azzurro Italian Coastal Cuisine.
