Three new deaths related to COVID-19 were reported by Montgomery County's public health district and emergency management office Sept. 4 as active and total case counts each slightly increased.

The new deaths include a Conroe man in his 50s and a man and woman from The Woodlands, each in their 70s. The county's total fatalities related to the disease now stand at 123, or 1.34% of all cases confirmed locally.

Active cases rose by 34 countywide Sept. 4, an increase of 2.7%. Of the 1,294 resident cases now active in Montgomery County, 23 are hospitalized—three more than Sept. 3.

The county's total case count rose by 118 on Sept. 4 to 9,164, while confirmed clinical recoveries increased by 81 to 6,338. Of all cases in the county, just over 69% have recovered.

According to data provided by the Southeast Texas Regional Advisory Council, 58 people regardless of residence are hospitalized with COVID-19 in Montgomery County. Of those, 38 are in general or isolation beds, and 20 are in an intensive care unit.
