Interfaith of The Woodlands will be hosting a a drive-thru-style pet food giveaway May 21 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at 4242 Interfaith Way, The Woodlands.

The event comes from a collaboration between the Humane Society of Montgomery County and the Montgomery County Animal Shelter, and those wishing to participate will remain in their cars as volunteers distribute the appropriate amount of food. All staff and volunteers assisting with the food drop-off are required to wear gloves and masks to ensure their safety and that of the public.

"Over the decades that Humane Society of Montgomery County has served our community, we have seen our share of crises,” said Nelda Luce Blair, HSMC president and board member. “Yet, COVID-19 is a ‘different animal,’ so to speak. If HSMC can help a pet to stay with its family by providing pet food, that certainly fits within our mission. We are thrilled to come together with Houston Humane Society, Montgomery County Animal Shelter, and Interfaith of The Woodlands to make this Free Pet Pantry happen in our community.”

No prior reservation is needed to attend, and food will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
