From an event venue opening in the Alden Bridge area to a new place to eat coming soon to Market Street, here are five local businesses with news in The Woodlands area this summer. This list is not comprehensive.

The Blue Magnolia

The Blue Magnolia, a luxury event venue, is now open near Alden Bridge, co-owner Angela Kovar confirmed.

Formerly an equestrian horse farm, the 10-acre venue features indoor chapel seating, a reception hall, indoor and outdoor cocktail areas, scenic grounds, a bridal suite and groom’s suite, a caterer’s prep kitchen and more, according to its website.Below Deck Dive Bar

As of June 28, Below Deck Dive Bar is now serving cocktails, beer, wine and bar food, officials said. Per the business Facebook, Below Deck Dive Bar offers wings, mozzarella sticks, fries, burgers and chicken tenders.


The bar also serves a variety of cocktails and seltzers.Local Public Eatery

Local Public Eatery announced its opening date at Market Street in The Woodlands in a July 24 release. As of Aug. 21, Local Public Eatery will be open to serve American cuisine in The Woodlands. Per the release, the new Local Public Eatery will be located in a 5,140-square-foot interior space with a 2,020-square-foot wrap-around patio.

The restaurant will also offer afternoon and late-night happy hours and weekend brunch service. Takeout and delivery are also available daily on the restaurant's website and via delivery services.Fajita Pete's

Previously owned by Frajoldings LLC, Fajita Pete’s officials said the restaurant in The Woodlands is converting to a corporate-owned business with Pedro Mora as the new owner of the restaurant as of Aug. 1. Mora said Fajita Pete's The Woodlands is looking forward to strengthening its connection with the community through spirit nights and local outreach initiatives.K1 Speed


K1 Speed announced its opening in The Woodlands area July 29. The location is the indoor go-kart racing operator's sixth venue in Texas.

The new location in The Woodlands area features indoor go-kart racing as well as a full arcade and food at the Paddock Lounge. The all-electric go-karts are imported from Italy and reach speeds of 45 mph for the adult vehicles and 20 mph for the children's vehicles, according to a news release. K1 Speed also offers an arcade stocked with video games, pool tables, air hockey and other games, according to the news release. The Paddock Lounge is a gastropub-inspired cafe and offers items like brisket grilled cheese, burgers and wings as well as soft drinks.
