Anthony and Kristy Tamayo said they have plans to open their first storefront for Knead Me Bakery by mid-November to offer their baked goods.

The backstory

The bakery started in 2017 with a booth at The Courtyard Collective Farmers Market off FM 1488 and Tamina Road, the owners said. Knead Me Bakery offers dough kneaded by hand with eggs from pasture-raised, free-range hens as well as using unbleached flours, old-fashioned oats and no preservatives.

"Our goal was to have a storefront within five years, but COVID[-19] slowed that down by a couple of years. But we grew a dedicated following at the market and also deliver to the local area while we work on the storefront," Kristy Tamayo said.

What to expect

The storefront will offer freshly baked breads including sourdough, pan sobao and English white as well as treats such as crackers, scones and muffins. Additionally, the bakery plans to offer a coffee bar.

The Tamayos said customers can expect a friendly and comfortable atmosphere located in Shenandoah.
